DESCRIPTION

Falling for my broody, and oh so handsome, new neighbor has never been part of the plan. But now, how can I resist him?

Carter Hills is my moody and hot-as-hell country music star new neighbor.
How I didn’t recognize him when I rented the cabin next to his for a month is still a mystery. Yeah, I bet he had a great time messing with me on purpose. And disrupting all my plans.

The guy is not only Nashville's most eligible bachelor, but he’s a pain in my a**. Worse, he’s acting like he knows better. But he is about to discover I can master that game too. I’m not some innocent damsel in distress. I can definitely take care of myself.

My heart rate picks up every time we’re together, but it doesn’t matter, his attitude should be enough to ward me off him. But still, the more I get to know him, the closer I want to get.

Despite our banter, Carter is always coming back for more, and my month-long retreat isn’t going as expected. Blame it on the intoxicating chemistry we share.

Is indulging in the fire searing between us and risking being burned worth it, or should I just run away?

Fall in love with Nashville's hottest bachelor.

Got to be honest, at first I was skeptical about this book because I am not a fan of country movies/shows, the outback and I hate almost all country music (with the exception of Dolly Parton). However, after reading the first chapter of this book I was hooked.

Carter and April’s story is adorable and I love every single character … except for Savannah Prince. I love April’s whole character; her childlike wonder of the world, her sarcasm and her love of hot chocolate. I can also relate to the fact that April’s life was chaotic and unproductive which was flipped around when she went to Green Mountain. I love traveling and when I go away by myself, I feel like it is so refreshing and relaxing.

Both characters have gone through so much in their lives and it was awesome to read how they were able to overcome their pasts and differences in a realistic way. The anxiety episodes and overthinking parts were so real and allowed me to connect with the characters on a more personal level.

I felt this book also showed a more accurate representation of celebrity life and how gossip, publicity and privacy is complex and frustration. Affecting ones actions and personal life as well as how they act under the spotlight. And Carter’s wishes for wanting a normal life and also creating music was well written. I love his attitude towards his career and I love that he is able to leave it all behind and just be HN when he is with April. One of my favourite parts is when they get to act like tourists in the city and just be themselves.

I love all these characters and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to learn about their friends and hopefully get a better understanding of their world a little bit more.

"Fairy, I'm doomed. You've cast a spell over me, and I don't ever want to break it", I whispered, breathless. "I'll never be able to stay away from you."-Carter Hills

Oh my goodness....I don't know how I missed this book being released and am so glad it found me. From the very beginning this book screams excellence! These characters get a hold of your heart before you even realize it. The tragedies that Carter and April had faced in their pasts is what has made them who they are today and who they are is each other's soulmates...there is no doubt in my mind about that. They had to hit those massive bumps in the road that led them to each other.

Carter Hills is a country music star that is in the middle of a huge scandal brought on by his ex-girlfriend. He decides to retreat to his mountain cabin to lay low in the hopes this all blows over soon. Meanwhile April Simmons is an author struggling to get her third book written. Her best friend has a client cancel the vacation in a cabin in the mountains so she offers it up to April. April sets out to spend a month of solitude in the mountains with just her cat, Bernice, and her laptop. Having been suffering from insomnia for so long she is shocked to find that the mountain air is just what she needed. She is able to relax and inspiration strikes her and that third story starts to get written. Neither one of these two anticipates their paths crossing...until they do!

From the moment these two first meet there is so much tension between them....I'm talking they could set things around them on fire just with said tension. Then there is the added benefit of the banter that seems to be the only way Carter and April know how to communicate...it is the recipe for their HEA! The nicknames they come up with for each other....especially Carter! He calls April everything from Fairy, to Pixie, to Bubble Gum! To April he is just HN.....handsome neighbor. It seems like it is forever before they find out each other's real names and that only adds to their perfect story.

It isn't very often that an author writes her H that is both super alpha and yet emotional at the same time. I am talking not afraid to cry in front of the woman he loves...he holds nothing back when he is emotional. Emmanuelle Snow wrote Carter just like that and when he gets emotional and his tears start flowing....my heart broke for him so much. April's story was just as heartbreaking when I read it. This story is one of two people finding their second chance at love with each other. There were so many times in this story I wanted to yell at them to get out of their own heads and follow their hearts, which they eventually do. You will definitely get hit in all the feels with Carter and April and all of the side characters. I am so glad to have had the opportunity to read their story and I cannot wait to move on to see what else is in store for the rest of this series.

I feel like we all can relate to pink and country. This is a enemies to lovers romance! A few laugh out loud moments that seriously I would be mortified if it were to happen to me!

I loved their story and dual point of view. There is a little mystery sprinkled throughout the story too which keeps you guessing. Don’t forget SPICE! There are some spicy scenes but ohhhhh the slow burnnnn 🔥🔥Mrs. Snow puts us through.

Put this on your TBR🥰 I Definitely Recommend

DAAAMN.

This author can write! I mean, wow. It is not often i enjoy musician angsty romance books. But this blew me out of the park. It was so beautifully, fluffy, sweet and with the right amount of angst and smut. The characters were just right, Carter - what a man; He worked through his life, his trauma and demons and did not let them define him. He was written so well, not over-the-top annoying and boring. April got on my nerve sometimes, but she redeemed herself pretty quickly. Plus, the others were funny too! I look forward to read this author`s next books!

I got this eARC from Netgalley.
